We’ve had some customers inquire about the tabletop’s aluminum construction. Wouldn’t a fully steel table construction be stronger? In some respects yes, because aluminum is a softer metal that mars easier. But our high-strength aluminum tabletop is still designed to last a lifetime, offering more than enough durability for the day-to-day tasks of even professional wreath makers.

So why the aluminum tabletop? Mostly to improve overall balance and ergonomics. We wanted to keep the table from being too top heavy when unloaded – such as during setup – providing a safer, more comfortable weight balance. The lightweight aluminum is also easier to lift and secure into place before you get to work.

As an added bonus, aluminum is naturally corrosion resistant. Mitchell workstands are powder coated to resist rust and corrosion. However, as the surface gets marked up over years of use, you won’t have to worry about rust peaking through. The tubular steel table legs are also powder coated, giving you the perfect combination of strength, stiffness, corrosion resistance, and weight balance.
